The courage of Prometheus

Prometheus stole fire from the Gods to give it to the humans, and as retaliation had to suffer to be chained to a rock in the Caucasus where  his liver is eaten daily by and eagle only to be regenerated by night, due to his immortality…later Heracles slays the eagle and free Prometheus from is chains.

Are we prepared to bear the burden of doing something good, no matter the cost? The hope on Heracles coming later will be enough? What if Heracles will never appear?

Enjoy the view Caravaggio had on Prometheus, the details of the body, the power of the convulse face, the arms useless to fight the Eagle and the horror of expected eternity in such distress….
